Full Dentures
Dentures (false teeth) are removable devices used to replace missing teeth. Dentures provide much of the appearance and function of teeth and offer a good balance of usability with cost. Full Dentures replace all of the teeth on an arch (i.e upper or lower).
Partial Dentures
Partial Dentures replace some of the teeth and is used when some of the natural teeth remain in the mouth. There are two common types of Dentures:
- Acrylic Dentures: These are the most common providing teeth on a plastic-like base. These often give a better appearance than the metal based Dentures, and have a cost advantage too.
- Metal Cobalt Chrome Dentures: These have a metal base. They are generally only used as partial Dentures. The metal base allows the Denture to be thinner and to fit tightly around the remaining teeth.
Denture Repairs
A Denture Repair is performed when a Denture is damaged and has cracked or broken. Kirkliston Dental Surgery benefits from having the Dental Laboratory onsite. This means repairs can be returned the same day, within a couple of hours.
Mouthguards
A mouthguard is a protective device for the mouth that covers the teeth and gums. Mouthguards prevent and reduce injury to the teeth, arches, lips and gums. The Dental Laboratory can provide Mouthguards in many different colours.
